I am the founder of this financial planning practice, where I dedicate most of my time to engaging directly with clients. My focus is on meeting with them, offering tailored recommendations, and fostering deeper relationships. My journey in financial advising began right out of college with American Express Financial Advisors, which later evolved into Ameriprise in 2005.
My fascination with finance started at a young age, inspired by my mom who worked at a bank. After school, I would spend hours at the bank, captivated by stories of stocks and markets shared by the older bankers. Growing up in a lower-middle-class family, these tales were a window into a world of possibilities. I also enjoyed searching through coins, with help from the tellers, in hopes of finding a silver dime or wheat penny.
Hailing from Waynesville, NC, I moved to Raleigh to attend NCSU and chose to stay after graduation. My high school years were spent bagging groceries at the local supermarket, a job that taught me the value of knowing people. In a small town, you learn that everyone shares similar fears and concerns, and the importance of our connections to others.
I am grateful for a wonderful and supportive family. My wife, Heloisa, is from Brazil and is an incredible partner, friend, mother, and business owner. We have two fantastic kids, John and Joseph. A significant reason for founding Capital Wealth Associates was to shape the future of my business. I hope to provide an opportunity for my sons, should they choose to follow in my footsteps.
In early 2024, I was diagnosed with a cardiac birth defect, a revelation that offered me a new perspective on life. This experience has heightened my appreciation for time and deepened my commitment to my family. They, along with our dogs, are my greatest passion, and spending time with them is my newfound hobby.
